Dreams only work if you do!

Good afternoon, gorgeous people!

I know it’s been a while since I’ve written to you, and hope that you understand that sometimes life is crazy.

Today I’d like to talk to you about something that’s pretty important to me, and could just make the difference to your life too.

It’s easy to have a dream. It’s easy to have a goal, and it’s easy to say that you’re going to make it happen, but the truth is you’ll need to work, and work, and work a little more to realise it completely.

That means (especially if you’re around the same age as I am), nights in replying to a mountain of emails while all of your friends are partying, and it means heading out to start your day at the same time they’re just coming home. When I had just started marketing my candles, I would be passing taxis with my friends passed out in the back at 5am, on my way to the market.

It means the tough jobs. You know how there’s always the jobs in any workplace that no-one wants? The dishes that have to be washed, the floors that have to be swept, the Saturday night or Monday morning shift that you’d rather do without? That will all be on you.

It means missing out on things- friends’ birthdays and having enough cash to go out to dinner once a week.

The funny thing is, all of this work, these hours, the grind will feel like a breeze if you’re truly doing something that you love. I’m not saying that you won’t have days that you wish you were still working at Subway and I’m not saying it’s easy, but I am saying that it’s worth it.

Putting all of your time, money, heart and soul into building a dream is absolutely one of the most difficult things you will ever do, but when you work that hard the rewards are so much sweeter.

Love,
